The unions are afraid of walmart.....the mob is afraid that they won't have as much money coming into their hands. It's sad that New Yorkers don't want a walmart to come into town and better the economy and remove a lot of the corruption that these unions bring.

That's why New Yorkers go outside of NYC. The Green Acres Wal-Mart does huge numbers. And guess what? 80% of shoppers are from NYC.

Why are there so many damn Targets in NYC? 3 in Brooklyn alone. And Target is looking for a forth. No one is up in arms about that. I know a store owner who is hurt by the Flatbush/Nostrand store. Fulton Street Downtown Brooklyn would have been fine. There are no so called mom and pops there. Just 2 Payless stores 5 Duane Reades 2 sprint stores and a who lot of other CHAIN stores. I'm not a hug fan of Wal Mart but damn, I went there last week and saved a few bucks. We should worry about fixing the streets and cleaning all the trash around.

Very sad. The had a horrible lawyer. Why wasn't everything looked over before they started this?
Wal Mart did pay her bills. what more do you they need? Everyone is ready to sue. What world are we living in? I'm not happy with it, but Wal Mart was right in this matter. Look at all the facts

Why not let Wal-Mart in NYC. Why is Target is opening stores all over the place? Is the city getting something from Target. I love Target, but I also love Wal-Mart. Fine I'll keep spending my money on Long Island and New Jersey. I'm sure me like thousands of New Yorkers don't mind giving LI or Jersey extra tax revenue s.

Lets face it, with 1.5 million people everyone and thier mother is jumping on the bandwagon trying to get some money out of deep pockets. There may or may not be truth to the suit, however I am sure they are relitively isolated instances. Having done hiring and reviews/promotions myself for walmart I can tell you only at the personal level would any group be discriminated against. I'm not going to say that walmart is the best thing since sliced bread, but I am going to tell you there are many more pressing things you could worry about. Come work in my store for a few weeks and you'll see that walmart is mostly composed of people from the community just trying to make a living. And lets not forget how much walmart gives back to the community, but I guess it's not as fun to put that sort of thing on the internet. Lets face it, Walmart just isn't so bad

Kinda find it hard to believe that a developer would not negotiate with Wal-Mart on a sight (It's like a baseball players' agent saying the Yankees are out of the picture.)

Sounds more Wal-Mart (and the developer) would like to keep discussions quiet.
